JYFA COVID-19 PROTOCOLS FOR 2021 FALL SEASON

Keep players with symptoms of illness home from practice and/or games.
Players/Coaches with any of the following symptoms should be excluded from play:
Loss of taste or smell of any duration
Any of the following symptoms lasting longer than 24hours:
FFeeling feverish having chills, temperature of 100.4○F or higher, new or worsening cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Any of the following symptoms lasting longer than 48hours:
Sore throat, runny nose or congestion, muscle or body aches, headache, fatigue, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea
Unchanged, usual symptoms of a known chronic condition should not prompt exclusion.
“Return to Play” Criteria
• Players/Coaches with any symptoms listed above should be excluded from play until: player/coach receives a negative COVID-19 test (PCR or other molecular test) and symptoms are resolved or improved OR a player/coach completes a 10-day home isolation period and has been fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication
• Individuals with loss of taste or smell should be excluded for 10 days regardless of COVID-19 test results. They are still encouraged to get tested for COVID-19.
COVID-19 Positive
1.Identify the first date they had symptoms.
2. Count backwards by two days. This is the date their contagious period started.
3. Return to the first date they had symptoms. Count forward by 10 days. This is the last date of their contagious period.
Any player/coach that has come into close contact with an individual testing positive for COVID-19 during their contagious period (48 hours before symptoms occurred) needs to quarantine immediately and consult with local health agencies. Without consultation from local health agency, players/coaches will need to quarantine for 14 days.
Update to Quarantine Exemption for Fully-Vaccinated Individuals
What changed:
Prior: CDC recommends fully vaccinated and asymptomatic people do not quarantine after exposure
Now: CDC recommends fully vaccinated and asymptomatic people do not quarantine after exposure as long as they get tested 3-5 days after exposure and get a negative result AND wear a mask for a full 14 days or until a negative result is received.
